Hi David,

The delegate registration fee for both the training workshop and the main forum is indeed USD 900, and you will get a USD 100 discount if you register before the end of December.

The training sessions will mainly be lectures on each specific artificial lift technology, and there will be three separate rooms for BP, GL, and Gas Lift training sessions. We are still putting together the list of lecturers, but as before, these will be conducted by experts and leading companies in the field, i.e. Lufkin will be involved in the BP training sessions.

The MEALF 2009 Technical Committee has already selected the papers to be presented in the forum and we will be putting up the conference programme in the website as soon as we have finalized the scheduling. What I can tell you is that it will focus mainly on the actual implementation of artificial lift and not so much on the commercial side. Please visit the website again within about the next two weeks for you to see who will be presenting at the forum.

We will certainly invite those companies you mentioned to participate in the forum. In fact, Ahmed Mashgary of Novomet has recently been accepted as the newest member of the MEALF Technical Committee.

Thank you for your interest in MEALF 2009, and we look forward to welcoming you in Bahrain in February.

Best regards,

Joyce Bacallan

Hi Clemendo Fernandes,

I have visited the website to sign up. Purchase price is $900 for registration and training.

Before paying for the registation, could you please inform the names of the trainers and subjects/ objectives for the various programs,? Are these actually training sessions, or are they lectures?  I see only broad categories such as ESP, PCP, Gas Lift, but no specifics. This would help a lot. Appreciate it to receive this information at this time.

I am a member of the forum at www.esplift.com.  Question - Was anyone invited to participate from the other esp service companies becoming active in the Middle East such as Novomet, Borets, Canadian Advanced, ESP lift, ESP School Inc. and others such as the Chinese suppliers looking to supply to the Middle East? As you may be aware, enterprises like ESP school have recently been involved in training in the Middle East with operators, such as their upcoming program in Amman in January where retired ESP experts will be participating. And suppliers like Canadian Advanced are becoming active in supplying and servicing esp's in the region.

Is this forum limited to the larger capital enterprises - Baker Hughes, Schlumberger and Wood Group? It wasn't long ago that the esp portion of these large companies had very limited investment in the region. How about giving others opportunity in these forums?

Best Regards
David P Davidson

Hi Mate,

In my location I have accross this kind of problem, and here are my suggestions.
1. If you have harmonic problem you should anylize your network and need to use load filter to reduce the harmonic effect.
2. In my location we try to swap the transformer with new ones and it works
3. Try to use not the same line for your CT, the power requirement of each CT may effect others if you use the same line.
Hope it might works, good luck
